ACFEA are proud to have over 300 couriers on their extensive database. Each one has applied for the role, been interviewed by an ACFEA representative and submitted references to be checked. The role of the courier is vital for the smooth running of a tour and Tour Managers need to feel confident that their ‘baby’ - the tour they have been planning for many months – is in safe hands and will be treated with the same great care and attention whilst on the road.
In October we invited 30 couriers for an exclusive ACFEA training day. They travelled to London from all across Europe – Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Austria, Scandinavia & Poland – to learn more about ACFEA and share their experiences with others. During the course of the morning ACFEA Tour Managers presented different topics such as the role of the courier, client expectations, concert management, health and safety and crisis management. In the afternoon the couriers were put in to breakout groups where they were given tricky scenarios to discuss. They used their past touring experiences and the knowledge they had learnt during the day to present to the room how they would manage that particular scenario. This led to a great open forum for everyone to communicate with each other and share their thoughts and ideas for future tours.
Helen David, Director of ACFEA, commented, “this is our third ACFEA courier training day and we were delighted to host so many couriers with such varied skills, knowledge and experience in one room again. I’m excited that each one will be adding even more value to our tours and we are very much looking forward to working with them all”.
